Founder of Motionalism

Rafael Salazar is a Colombian-born artist whose career spans over six decades across sculptural, abstract, and digital practices. Emerging from the intellectual climate surrounding Barranquilla mid-century artistic circles, his work has evolved through continuous structural inquiry.
At 82, he founded Motionalism - a language of energy, silence, and transformation.
Through geometric forms, dimensional composition, and disciplined spatial construction, Salazar translates internal motion into visible structure. His work studies change rather than illustrating it, balancing containment and expansion within controlled architectural form.
The Genesis Collection establishes the foundation of Motionalism, while subsequent bodies of work expand its structural vocabulary.
Based in Florida, Salazar maintains an active, forward-looking studio practice.
